I am pleased to be writing this letter of reference in regards to Katy Eaton. Katy has taught in my class as a full time student teacher since August of this school year. Katy is an extremely dedicated teacher and very reliable. She is always willing to arrive early and stay late to make sure she is prepared for the following day's lessons.
Katy has shown a true sense of professionalism. Punctuality, sincerity, and dedication were evident in her daily. work. The same standard was evident throughout her experience. Katy showed an energetic attitude and maintained a professional appearance and professional manner.
Throughout her experience Katy has always shown she is prepared and extremely organized for each and every lesson. Katy is a natural teacher. She exhibits a true sense of ease when she is teaching the children. Katy's lessons demonstrated confidence in her ability to have all students be successfulleamers and participants, which promoted self confidence and a higher level of self esteem in her students. Her kind, caring, and gentle way with the students provided a safe environment for learning to take place. Katy's lessons were well thought out and showed a wide variety of child centered activities that were differentiated to meet the many needs of the many different learning styles in my classroom. Her lessons's not only met the first grade standards, but were tailored to meet the needs of students working above and below grade level also. Katy demonstrated outstanding classroom management. She set very clear expectations for behavior and was always consistent with positive reinforcements and consequences. When Katy is teaching her transitions are smooth and seamless. In meetings with parents, Katy displayed professionalism and often added valuable information for both parents and teachers.
Katy's communication skills with me, parents and staff were excellent. She attended staff meetings, weekly collaborative grade level meetings, IEP's, a SST and many parent conferences. Katy displayed true professionalism in every meeting and added valuable input to each one.
After having Katy be a part of my classroom, I personally see her as ready to take on the challenges of the teaching profession. Her dedication to education, her outstanding organizational skills, and her exemplary teaching ability, leads me to believe that Katy has the dedication and knowledge to be a successful teacher and will have much to offer any staff.
